Taxis (Large vans for parties of 6 – 8) are lined up and waiting outside the airport terminal – a taxi dispatcher will arrange the cab w/invoice stating the fare which is a set fee depending on # of people/luggage. Hotels and condos do not offer their own transfer system. Alternately, rental car agencies are located at the airport, across the street from the terminal. When renting a car: a road map & directions to The Beachcomber will be given at the rental office. Beachcomber is a 10 – 15 minute car ride from airport.

If guests are arriving after office hours or on Sunday when the office is closed: Guest’s flight arrival information is required, so that the office may be open and available for any late or Sunday arrivals. Management is on-site 24/7 & is available for late check ins and any after hours emergencies.

If your plans change and you need to cancel, please advise us immediately. Cancellations made well in advance (as below) will have their deposit refunded less a $200us cancellation fee.

Summer Season: Cancel 60 days or more prior to arrival.

US Thanksgiving week:  Cancel 90 days or more prior to arrival.

Winter Season: Cancel 90 days or more prior to arrival

Holiday Season: Cancel 120 days or more prior to arrival.

If cancellation is made on shorter notice than above, the deposit and final balance will be forfeited.
Travel insurance is highly recommended in order to cover any unforseen situations.

The Cayman Islands use the same electrical system and plugs as the USA and Canada:  110 Volts.

If you are visiting from another country other than the USA/Canada, you will need to bring an adapter for your electrical devices.

There is FREE high speed WiFi service provided in each villa.  To access, go to “wireless connection” on your laptop, and enter the WiFi password, which is provided in each individual condo.

Yes, hair dryers are provided in each bathroom of every villa.

Yes.  Each villa has its own in-suite laundry room with a full size washer & dryer, sink, iron & ironing board.

Yes, The Beachcomber provides portable Pac N Play cribs and highchairs at no extra charge.

Full Size cribs are available for rent at a cost of $75 per week.

Babysitting can be arranged through the Beachcomber office.

A regular housekeeping service is provided daily, Monday through Saturday.
No housekeeping on Sundays.

Yes.  Each villa has an in-room safe, where you can store your valuables.

The property is also patrolled by a security guard, who is on duty from 10 PM – 5 AM daily.

The resident Manager is on-site 24/7.

We offer our guests an underground parking garage.  There is no assigned parking – 1 free parking space is provided per condo rental, any space available. Both elevators do service the underground parking area.

Yes, our on-site fitness centre is available for all adult guests 18 years of age and older – no children are allowed in the gym at anytime.
There are treadmills, stationary bikes, step machines, free weights and various other fitness accessories.
Bathroom, Water, Towels and TV are provided. Proper gym attire is required.

The fitness center is open daily from 5AM to 10PM.

The Beachcomber is a smoke free property.  Smoking is not permitted in the condos, on patios or in any common areas.

Smoking is allowed on the beach only.

Yes, there are 2 elevators servicing the south side and north side of the Beachcomber building.  Accessing both sides of the building down to the pool & beach.

The south side elevator goes directly to the Fitness Centre, which is open from 5 AM – 10 PM Daily.

The Beachcomber’s section of beach is wide with fine soft white sand – no rocky shore or broken coral. The shoreline has a gradual slope into the sea, allowing for an easy entry and exit for people of all ages.

The water temperatures are:

December – April: 76-78 degrees F.

April – November: 82-84 degrees F.

  • There are 110 beach chaise lounges provided on the beach.
  • Large 12’, movable umbrellas are provided as well as (2) 12’ X 14’
  • Thatched huts and numerous palm trees for protective shade.
  • Fresh beach towels are provided daily by housekeeping.
  • Four large Weber Gas Grills are available poolside

Snorkel gear may be rented at nearby water-sports offices or may be purchased at local shops.  Always ask in our office for any beach toys / floats that may have been left by previous guests, as there is usually a selection of these available. Otherwise, new beach toys/ floats are readily available for purchase at Foster’s Food Fair.  You can also rent beach toys from www.emptysuitcases.com and they will deliver them to your condo.

Yes, a regular service runs runs every 10-15 minutes from West Bay (Turtle Farm) to George Town, with a stop in front of the Beachcomber.

Fare: US$ 2.50 per person

There are ATM’s located at many locations around the island.  The closest is just a short stroll from The Beachcomber in The Strand shopping plaza.

Fosters Supermarket is the closest supermarket and is located at Camana Bay.  It is open Monday – Saturday  7 AM – 11 PM.

Grocery stores / Liquor stores are closed on Sundays.

Grocery delivery can be arranged (extra cost) for guests arriving on Sundays.

Yes!  The Beachcomber is very centrally located, and there are many excellent restaurants within an easy walk of the property.

Strand Medical Centre / Dr. Louis Cona and Strand Dental office are located across the street from Beachcomber and are open Monday – Saturday.

The Strand Pharmacy is located in the Foster’s Food Fair located across the street from Beachcomber.

George Town Hospital (public) or Chrissie Thomlinson Hospital (private) are available for any medical emergency.

There is a 911 medical emergency system in place on island.  Doctors are also available for ‘house calls’ at the condo when needed.

The Ritz Carlton, The Westin, Sunshine Suites and Caribbean Club are all within a short walking distance from The Beachcomber.

No sorry, no pets are allowed at the resort.

The Cayman Islands rain season is the same as much of the Caribbean, and runs from May through November.  During these months, we get more rain than in the winter season, but the rain is often just a short but intense downpour, and then the sun comes out again.
